Final gala of the XIIIth edition of the "Business Fair Play" Program and IX edition "Community Fair Play" was held in the Congress Hall of the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw.

"TEST FOR THE BEST. EUROPEAN SKILLS ACHIEVEMENT CONTEST" for higher education institutions regarding their programs' adjustment to business needs took place on the 17^th June 2010 in the University of Gdansk Economics Faculty "O" Assembly Hall, Armii Krajowej 119/121 Street in Sopot at 12 p.m. Participation in the test was open and free of charge. The test will be held also among students in Italy, Portugal and Turkey. Due to the limited number of participants the order of application will be decisive. Each partner country will set its own date to run the test. The contest's co-organizer in Poland was Economics Faculty of the University of Gdansk.

The Institute for Private Enterprise and Democracy started implementation of project "Through science to business" in Śląskie Voivodeship according to the contract no. UDA-POKL. 08.02.01-24-025/09-00. The project is co-financed by the European Union from the European Social Fund within the Human Capital Operational Program, Priority 8. Regional Human Resources of the Economy, Measure 8.2. Transfer of knowledge, Sub-measure 8.2.1. Support to cooperation of scientific environment and enterprises.

Call for papers

The Polish Foundation of Opportunities Industrialization Centers "OIC Poland" and the Institute for Private Enterprise and Democracy are organizing the conference "Creating the cooperation of Science and Business in Lubelskie Voivodeship" on the 9th December 2010 in Lublin. The conference is organized in the framework of the project "Enterprising University" realized within the Human Capital Operational Programme, Priority 8. Regional Human Resources of the Economy, Measure 8.2. Transfer of knowledge, Sub-measure 8.2.1. Support to cooperation of scientific environment and enterprises.

The aim of the conference is to present the possibilities of cooperation between the representatives of the research institutions and entrepreneurs, especially regarding the specific character and needs of Lubelskie Voivodeship. A presentation of the best practices of business and research institutions in the above mentioned area and a discussion about the possible activities of public authorities supporting creation of durable relations of scientific environment and enterprises will take place during the conference. The conference is addressed first of all to the scientists, businesses and public authorities, who are involved in supporting entrepreneurship and development of innovation and modern services as well as industries based on the advanced knowledge.

Regarding the conference we would like to invite the authors to apply their papers proposals within the following subjects:

1. Creation of durable cooperation between science and economy.
2. Business models of cooperation between research institutions and businesses.
3. Activities of regional authorities supporting the cooperation of science and economy.

The authors are asked to apply the titles of their papers for the conference till the deadline of the 15th September 2010 and the finished papers till the deadline of 30th September 2010.

The conference "High quality workplaces in Mazowsze. Creation of attractive job market through future fields of economy support program" took place in the National Chamber of Commerce room no. 205 on the 25th May 2010 from 11 a.m. till 3 p.m.

The aim of the conference was to sum up and present the results of the project "High Quality Job. The system of identification of the high quality employment growth potential in Mazowieckie Voivodeship. The mechanisms, instruments and solutions". The classic economic fields in Mazowsze showing a high potential in the area of creating the high quality jobs and possibilities of supporting new, seed or niche economic fields in Mazowsze were presented during the conference. Moreover the experiences of Helsinki, Madrid and Berlin regions in the area of the development of the attractive job market as well as the regional program of supporting the High Quality Jobs creation worked up within the project by the partnership of Sokołów Podlaski region were presented.

The Institute for Private Enterprise and Democracy invites to participate in the project "Good governance through social impact. Increasing the participation of the NGOs in the legislation process" by taking part in the opinion survey.

The main objective of the project is to establish and promote the rules of implementing real social consultations ensuring the participation of the NGOs in the legislative process on the basis of the best world practices. The survey's aim is to examine the expectations of social partners, i.e. you, regarding the legislation consultations in Poland.

One of the stages of the project is establishing a publication including a rapport created on the basis of your answers. The publication will be distributed during the final conference for which you will be invited.

If you express your opinion by filling in the survey's form you will have impact on such crucial questions as:

• Improving quality of legislation and control of authorities' activities by means of NGOs participation in social consultations;
• Changing the attitude towards the process of advocacy and social consultations through promotion of the project and implemented activities.

The Institute for Private Enterprise and Democracy became the Honorary Patron of the National Scientific Conference "Twenty years of regenerated local government in Poland". The conference will take place on the 8th March 2010 from 9:30 a.m. till 6:30 p.m. in Radom Academy of Economics at the Faculty of Law Sciences, Traugutta street 61 in Radom. The conference is co-organized by the Faculty of Law Sciences of the Radom Academy of Economics and the Center of Local Government and Local Development of the University of Warsaw.

The seminar "Breaking down stereotypes - 50 + employees as a valuable capital of the company" took place in the National Chamber of Commerce in Warsaw, Trębacka Street 4. Among the participants of the seminar were the representatives of press and entrepreneurs and business organizations. The seminar was a part of the project "SISC - Senior Intergenerational Social Capital" co-financed by the European Union. The aim of the project is to establish a mentoring model through e-learning so that the elder and younger employees could efficiently share the knowledge.
